The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Chairman Wissler, presiding, and the following members present: Drake and Fischer; and with County Auditor Renee Roland as clerk for the meeting. Absent: None.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting held on July 14, 2026, as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
There were no comments or concerns presented during Citizens Input.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims as presented in the amount of $296,404.00. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve drainage claims as presented in the amount of $5,890.00. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve a building permit for Craig Brotherton in Section 23, Viola Township. Ayes all. Motion carried.
Renee Roland, Sac County Auditor, presented a proposal for Human Resources services received from Ahlers & Cooney. There was discussion regarding what services would be needed and who in the county would provide those services, along with discussion regarding the possibility of creating a Human Resources position within the county. No action was taken.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects including that asphalt paving project is set to begin on Friday and last about 3 weeks.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve and enter into Agreement #2026-16-138 – 28E Cooperative Agreement for FY26 Competitive Highway Bridge Program Grant Project between Sac County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, that provides for cost sharing and grants awarded for Iowa Bridge #301800. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to adopt Resolution #2026-0721, A Resolution In Support of the Joint CHBP Grant Agreement & Letter of Support for the Competitive Highway Bridge Program (CHBP) Grant Project. Roll call vote: Ayes – Drake, Fischer, Wissler; Nays – None. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to sign the Competitive Highway Bridge Program Grant Letter of Support. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to set Public Hearing for August 4, 2026 for Proposed Ordinance - Public Nuisance Tax Sale and Proposed Amendment to Chapter 8, Tax Sale Certificate. Ayes all. Motion carried.
Update on CN Railroad and Secondary Roads issue was tabled to the July 28, 2026 meeting.
There being no further business, on motion by Drake and seconded by Fischer, the meeting was adjourned.
