The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Chairman Wissler, presiding, Supervisor Fischer present, Supervisor Drake absent; and with Auditor Renee Roland as clerk for the meeting.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the minutes of the last regular board meeting held on September 1, 2026, as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
Casey Miller addressed the Board during the Citizens Input segment of the meeting regarding an issue with a septic tank permit for a project located at 2570 200th Street, Nemaha. He had concerns regarding timing delays and particular requirements of the project. The Board will look into this matter. There was no action taken at this time.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as presented in the amount of $143,840.07. Ayes all. Motion carried.
Nick Buse, County Engineer, discussed with the Board a quote received for a gravel hauling truck. FY27 budget allowed for 2 gravel trailers, but a truck was not budgeted so Engineer will take some from gravel budget to cover this expense and no amendment will be needed. There was no action taken.
Nick Buse, County Engineer, updated the board as to current repair and maintenance projects such as asphalt projects that continue around the county stating that most of the overlay has been completed and still needs marking and N28 that is still partially closed for railroad repairs.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to abate the property taxes on Parcel #811033123007 in the amount of $146.00 for Vernon Van Meveren after it was discovered there was a clerical error and property taxes on the abandoned railroad piece had been charged to two landowners. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the Treasurer’s Semi-Annual Report for the period of 1/1/2026 to 6/30/2026. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to adopt Resolution #2026-0908, Approving General Operating Budgeted Transfers to Secondary Roads from General Basic in the amount of $505,509.25 and from Rural Basic in the amount of $48,598.00. Roll call vote: Drake – Absent, Fischer – Aye, Wissler – Aye. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the creation of a County Human Resources position and job description and approve the posting of the position.
There being no further business, on motion by Fischer and seconded by Wissler, the meeting was adjourned.
