The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Chairman Wissler, presiding, and Supervisors Drake and Fischer present; and with Auditor Renee Roland as clerk for the meeting.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the minutes of the last regular board meeting held on September 22, 2026, as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
There were no comments or concerns presented during Citizens Input.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the Notice to Bidders for Sac County Roads Project LFM-ED-35069—7X-81 and Project L-LE-3507—73-81. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the Final Plans for Sac County Roads Project LFM-ED-35069—7X-81 and Project L-LE-3507—73-81. Ayes all. Motion carried.
Nick Buse, County Engineer, updated the board as to current repair and maintenance projects including an update on N28 that the railroad has finished the crossing repair and secondary roads is pouring approaches and is close to completion.
Chris Rodman, Wall Lake City Clerk, presented an application from the Special Projects Fund requesting $10,000 for Wall Lake Rec Center roof replacement. Said application explained the project, noted additional matching funds received to assist in paying for the project and requested an exception to the deadline date moving it to October 9, 2026. It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the application in the amount of $7,500.00. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the hiring of Savana Dettmann to fill the position of Human Resources Director effective October 5, 2026 at a starting salary of $61,620.00. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to waive the first and second readings of Ordinance No. 2026-0929-1 – An Ordinance Amending Section 64.10 of the Sac County Code of Ordinances, Standards for On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems, Concerning Septic Tank Risers, which amends the current ordinance to “any watertight material” rather than pre-case concrete only, and adoption of the same ordinance. Roll call vote: Drake – aye, Fischer – aye, Wissler – aye. Ayes all. Motion carried.
There was discussion regarding Resolution No. 2026-0929-2, A Resolution Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement Pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 28E among Calhoun County, Greene County and Sac County for the Establishment of a Shared Victim-Witness Coordinator Position. There was no action taken pending clarification by the County Attorney.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims as presented in the amount of $147,440.68. Ayes all. Motion carried.
There being no further business, on motion by Fischer and seconded by Drake, the meeting was adjourned.
