Spraying
The Sac County Roadside Program oversees managing noxious weeds within the county right of ways. Spot spraying is both more efficient and cost effective by only addressing those weeds that have become a problem. By concentrating herbicides on the areas affected by the noxious weeds, we are allowing the beneficial plants to thrive and not permit problem areas to expand. The herbicides we use are all effective for the vegetation we are targeting and are labeled for use within the right-of-ways. The county is aware that not every site is suitable for herbicides, so we do refrain from spraying near those areas. If you are an organic farmer or simply concerned about any sensitive crop that could be impacted by herbicides, please feel free to contact us and make us aware of the site you are concerned about.
